Paneer Burji | Pan-fried crumbled Cottage Cheese



Paneer is one of the most popular dishes for many, we were no exception. It has been a favourite at home, since childhood. Mum has made varieties of paneer dishes and we have happily devoured on them with chapathis, rotis, plain rice or pulav. It basically goes with anything!


  

Out of the very many paneer dishes that has been prepared at home, this paneer burji was one of the most  frequented dish at our home. With primarily just crumbled paneer, onions and tomatoes this dish is probably one of the simplest of the paneer dishes, quick to make yet so very tasty!










Ingredients

Paneer / Cottage Cheese - 1 packet (200gms)
Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
Tomato - 1 medium, finely chopped
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
Red Chilly Powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tspCoriander Leaves - a little
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste


Method

  • Crumble the cottage cheese into fine granules.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds and allow it to splatter.
  • Add sliced onions, and saute till they turn transparent.

 

  • Now add the chopped tomatoes and saute for a few minutes.
  • Add the chilly powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt.
  • Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add in the crumbled cottage cheese and mix all the ingredients well.



  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.



  • Serve hot with Rotis or Rice.
